Episode #24: The Attachments
First aired: 02/05/06

Hell, and welcome to season #3 of When The Internet Attacks!! For the first episode of our new season, we're going to take a look at some strange attachments. I receive all manner of attachments in my work answer support email, and I thought I'd share a few different types with you today. Below you'll find several different groups of images.

Group #1: Odd Images

The first group of images are simple images unrelated to anything else. There's not really an rhyme or reason to them, and I get a lot like these. These are just a small smattering.

I think the Kangaroo-TV-Ostrich image is my favorite. I just can't imagine what the hell is going on there. The TV seems to be having some sort of idea though.

Group #2: Animated GIFs

Everyone likes an animated GIF, whether you pronounce it "gif" or "jif". But why attach them to an email to me? I have no idea, but I get more than my fair share of these as well. Here are a couple I received recently.

Group #3: Mass Emails

Many people wind up adding our support email addresses to their address books, either manually or automatically. This causes all sorts of problems and amusement for us, as I get virus warnings, bad joke forwards, and even holiday cards. The following attachment actually came with no explanation whatsoever, but it appears to be a Happy New Year photo, as it was sent on January 1st. Look how unhappy those poor dogs look.

Group #4: Personal Attachments

Finally, I do get plenty of attachments that are meant just for me. Usually, these are screenshots of error messages or of our applications in action. However, every so often I get something like the following:

Isn't that...well, weird. Also, very nice, but yeah, weird is the word. I can't imagine this gentleman made this specifically for me, so probably a few dozen people have gotten this and said "Uh, you're...you're welcome". That was my reaction, anyhow, along with an inner monlogue best left imagined.

That's all for now, but stay on the look out for a follow-up to our original Stupid Errors episode. Also, have a look at the episode guide for PBones TV's newest show, Signs Of Intelligent Life?. Until next time, this has been When The Internet Attacks!.
