Episode #22: When Keywords Attack! First aired: 06/18/06 Thanks for joining us on another episode of When The Internet Attacks!. We've been gone awhile, but this new show will hopefully appease you. Today, we're going to focus on the amusing mismatches that can occur when image and ad content is based on keywords in the accompanying text. In brief, that article is related to the bizarre case of Kevin Nicolle, who's BMW 318 jammed and got up to 130 mph for 60 miles. But perhaps having a BMW ad on the same page that BMW is saying "We don't know why the car went crazy and turned deadly. It might happen to you too, but uh, here's how to maybe not die", maybe that's not the best way of advertising. On the other hand, that ad should have been worth thousands to Mercedes.
